Video: Olugbo of Ugbo reveals Monarchs Committee for Akeredolu’s second term

The Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan, has declared that Monarchs in Ondo State have sent up committees across the state to work for the re-election of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Oba Akinruntan addressing newsmen shortly after their meeting in Akure said other contestants in the 2020 Ondo State Governorship poll are only wasting their time and resources.

He said, “Not Akure or Ilaje where I came from. We have eighteen local government in Ondo State who all came together to support him. Not only that, we even have committee in the Centre, North and South to work for him. This is the first time we are going to work for any government.

“And those who are contesting with him are just wasting their time. They better wait for him in another four years,” he stressed.

The traditional rulers were led by the chairman and Paramount ruler of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan, the Olugbo of Ugbo.

The traditional rulers include the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi; Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ajibade Ogunoye III, Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh; Olubaka of Oka, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, Abodi of Ikale land, Oba Babatunde Faduyile , Jegun of Idepe in Okitipupa, Oba Micheal Obatuga Adetoye and the Kalasuwe of Apoi land, Oba Sunday Adejimola Amuseghan among others monarchs from across the 18 local government areas of the state.

Meanwhile, residents of Ilaje local and other local government areas in the southern senatorial district of Ondo State have called on monarchs and government representatives in their domain to help end the over ten years of blackouts.

The residents of the district were deprived of electricity because of their alleged indebtedness.
