I visited Fortune University Igbotako

Immediately John F. Kennedy was shot by the assassin. It was said that his Vice President, Lyndon Johnson asked his Secretary to record all events as “history was being made before his very eyes!”.

Since I wanted to be a witness to the history being made at Igbotako, Okitipupa Local government of Ondo State by the Araba of Osooro land, Barr Jimoh Ibrahim in building a world class University he christened “Fortune University”, Igbotako. I decided to visit the place on Tuesday, on my way from my hometown, Akotogbo, heading back to Lagos.

The ambience was great to behold. It was a huge construction site on huge expanse of land. The place was a beehive of activities with several artisans and professionals engaging in one activities and the other. Different hawkers of different varieties of foods and other “essential energizer” were on ground plying their trades. Link roads and culverts are springing up annexing the whole place together.

The founder is not leaving any stone unturned in his bid to build a world-class, cutting edge University that will meet the challenges and needs of this generation. Several categories of buildings that will cater for different segments of users (students, lecturers, administration etc)are springing up.

Truly, a sprawling city is being built that will launch the rustic Community into global reckoning. It’s my earnest prayer that God should help the timely actualization of this lofty project.

I congratulate the visioner, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, the people of Igbotako, Ondo state and the nation at large.
