The First Annual Ikale Writers Awards, an award aimed at exploring language, preserving mother tongue and sustaining race will hold on Sunday 10th October, 2021.
According to a Press Release signed by the Sponsor of the event, Advocate Rotimi Elijah Ogunsanmi and made available to Ikale Voice, the award will help preserve Ikale dialect and sustain race.
Ogunsanmi said, “Ikale Writers Awards help in exploring language, preserving mother tongue and sustain race.”
“The award will hold on 10th October, 2021 at the Idepe Town Hall, Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria,” he said.
He pointed that writers are expected to submit their article of 50,000 words purely written in Ikale dialect on the title: Mental Health Illness (Aarun Opolo).
“The Judge assigned for all submitted articles is the Centre for Research in Nigerian Languages, Translaton and Folklore, Abuja,”
“The main prize is 1 million naira plus 5 plots of land within Ikale communities plus other consolation prizes.”
