Executive Chairman, Irele Local Government, Hon. (Barr.) Ajimotokin Olusegun has called on Christians in the local government to renew their hope in God as they celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Council helmsman noted that the birth of the Lord Jesus gave man the hope of having his sonship in God restored and therefore called on Christians to be thankful and appreciate God’s goodness of giving them a second chance.
He stated this in his Christmas message to the good people of Irele Local Government Local Government yesterday.
“ This festive period symbolizes God’s unfailing love and grace towards mankind and we must renew our hope in Him.
“Christmas is the season of love, joy, generosity and forgiveness. While we celebrate with friends family, we should also spend time to pray for a more peaceful and prosperous nation.
Hon. Ajimotokin further urged Christians to learn the lesson of humility as demonstrated in the birth of Jesus, he noted that the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger demonstrated uncommon humility.
He admonished Christians to use the season to share love and lend a helping hand to others, most especially the less privileged
The Hon. Chairman reiterated the readiness of his administration to continue to ensure peaceful coexistence of adherents of all religions in the local government and offer them conducive atmosphere to practise their faiths.
He urged Christian leaders in the local government to obey the State Government regulations on Covid-19 as they celebrate this yuletide season.
