Ondo State gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, Dr. Nat Adojutelegan has enjoined on Ondo State people and Nigerians to be major stakeholders in the process of governance.
Dr. Adojutelegan made this call during his Nigeria’s Democracy Day message in Akure and made available to reporters earlier today, June 12, 2020.
He said, “I call on all Ondo State people, Nigerians and friends of our dear country to support our effort to deepen democratic values towards ensuring that our people are major stakeholders in the process of Governance.”
The governorship aspirant congratulates the Ondo State people and his supporters, stressing that they are about to witness a new change of Governance.
“This day is one of extreme significance in our history as a nation as it marks the return of power to the people. I also use this opportunity to congratulate our people as they are about to witness a new change of Governance,” He said
Besides, Dr. Adojutelegan pointed that the uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria since 1999 is proof of its overwhelming popularity and acceptance, as it has allowed the active participation of everyone in the society in choosing their leader.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for officially recognizing June 12 as the nation’s Democracy Day in honour of the Late Chief M.K.O. Abiola.
“I want to use this opportunity to again commend our President, Muhammadu Buhari for officially recognising June 12 as the nation’s Democracy Day in honour of the Late M.K.O. Abiola, who paid a steep price for this participatory government,” He said.
